Terms of Service
Last Updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By adding Scotch Egg ("the Bot") to your Discord server or using its features as a user, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Bot.
2. License & Open Source
Scotch Egg is open-source software licensed under the **GPLv3 License**. You are free to view, download, modify, self-host, and distribute the source code in accordance with the terms of the GPLv3 license.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Bot in compliance with Discord’s Developer Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Use the Bot to spam, harass, or maliciously ping server members.
- Attempt to abuse the Discord API or disrupt services through the Bot's command execution.
- Modify and deploy the Bot's code for illicit tracking, data harvesting, or violating user privacy guidelines.
4. Hosting & Service Uptime
Because the Bot is designed to be **self-hosted**, the hosting administrator is entirely responsible for maintaining the hosting machine, keeping database files safe, securing credentials, and maintaining bot connectivity. We provide no guarantee of the Bot's uptime, availability, or operational accuracy.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the authors, developers, or copyright holders of the Bot be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the Bot or the use of the Bot.
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Bot after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Service.
8. Support & Feedback
Bug reports, feature requests, and community assistance should be handled through our GitHub repository issues panel:
